Zack's Todah Rabah (thank you)
My dad tells me that becoming a Bar Mitzvah is something like a rite of passage, where I am expected to act mature, and have responsibilities. It is important to me to be treated as an adult, but I realize that means earning it as well - doing things that help make me a part of the community, contributing when and where I can. An example might be as simple as mowing the lawn or putting out the recycling bins.
I especially want to thank my parents today, who surrendered so much of their time, to take me around to my lessons and Hebrew school and were always there when I needed them. My mother, who gave up countless hours of her time to drive me back and forth to Bar Mitzvah lessons and Hebrew school and always was there when I needed her. And my dad, who reminded me - or shall I say encouraged me - day in and day out - to study my lessons, and work on my speech, whether I wanted to or not.
Thank you mom and dad. I love you BOTH so much.
